I live in
Ohio. It’s going to be a very important state this election. Whoever wins Ohio
will probably win the presidency.
Every day I
see the commercial. They play it every hour here in Ohio. The purpose of the
commercial is to convince everyone in Ohio to vote for Hillary. There’s nothing
in it about policy or positive change. It just shows the remarks Mr. Trump has
made that are supposed to infuriate everyone.
It shows
children glued to the television, intently watching every supposedly stupid
thing Trump has ever said. The idea of the commercial is that we wouldn’t want
our children saying things like that, now would we?
First of
all, children don’t watch politics. They play games and watch cartoons and
movies. In the summer, they play outside in their backyards. I would be worried
about what kind of America these children will live in when they grow up.
The elite “experts”
on CNN and MSNBC don’t see what I see. They don’t see the America I see. Ohio
is a battleground state. Many parts of it literally look like a battleground.
In 2014 and
2015, we had a very bad winter in northeastern Ohio. Almost every road was full
of pot holes. Many roads were nearly impassable. Someone made a video of what
it was like to drive around here. The roads were not only bad in the city, but
in the townships of Austintown and Boardman as well.
Watch this
video so you can see what it was like. I had to drive on many of these exact
roads every day. The man in the video uses cuss words. He was very frustrated.
Here is another video that shows the frustration.
Many of the
good jobs around here are gone. The work went to China. The plant where I used
to work is shutting down. The work is going to China. There’s an abandoned gas
station down the street from the plant. The gas pumps are overgrown with weeds.
Many houses
are abandoned. The lawns aren’t being cut. There are no backyards full of
playing children. That’s the America I see. The house next door to me is
abandoned. The lawn was cut only one time this season. The gutters have fallen
off and there are fallen trees in the yard. There are no children playing in
that yard. A house down the street was demolished this year. No one is going to
build another house there.
I often
travel to nearby Akron, Ohio. There are beggars on almost every corner. They
don’t even have good signs. They get a piece of cardboard and write a simple
message in pencil. “Please help” or “Can’t find work” are some of the messages.
Some of the cardboard signs have the words “God Bless”.
One of the
beggars is a veteran who was injured and can’t find work. On the Fourth of July,
he was there, at his corner, holding an American flag.
I used to
think nearby Canton Ohio was in better shape, but it’s not. Someone made a
video about Canton. There are abandoned homes and overgrown lawns there too. I
didn’t see any happy children in the video. You can watch it if you want to.
I would
like to tell the pundits on CNN and MSNBC that I’m not offended by anything
Trump says. I’m offended by the America I see every day. Hillary doesn’t see
it. At least Donald Trump is aware of it. He wants to change it. He wants to
make America great again.
Ohio is not
just a place on a blue and red map. It’s where I live. It used to be great.
Once upon a time, it used to be great.
